What Are Halal Nail Polish Ingredients?

Halal nail polish such as that from the halal cosmetics is very popular in the Islamic culture, since its permeability permits those who wear nail cosmetics to engage in Wudu, an oral cleansing ritual performed during prayer. (Although it is debated whether or not breathable nail lacquer should be permitted for Wudu, it is being used by Muslim women.) Wudu is a ritual in which the devotee's face, hands, and feet are cleansed before entering the mosque. The ritual makes the devotee's shoes acceptable for prayer, while her fingernails and skin are unclean. In Islam, every Muslim woman is allowed to wear nail cosmetics, but the custom varies from community to community.

Some Muslims argue that non-halal nail polishes and other similar products create a temptation to use them when Wudu is not performed. In fact, they say that it is a form of idolatry. Yet another argument against breathable polish is that it could inhibit proper breathing. This is because the polish may not permeate enough air to allow proper ventilation. In addition, many Muslim women wear long, loose abayas that are wrapped up in artificial nails, which could also be affected by a foreign object that could get stuck in them.

The problem is that wearing authentic halal nail polish would not hamper breathing or inhibit proper ventilation. It is worn in order to avoid touching the objects that are considered to be unclean during Wudu. Thus, the substance has no effect on hygiene in this regard. The Islamic law does not require that cosmetics are worn during Wudu. Wearing them is immodest and is thus forbidden under Islamic law.

On the other hand, some argue that the practice of having halal nail polish applied to one's nails is not permissible because it will cause a distraction to the worshipers. This distraction could result to people looking at the bare nails instead of observing proper Islamic ritual. Thus, the practice will, in effect, have the opposite effect and could even have the effect of confusing people, leading them to worship things that are not permitted in Islam. This is contrary to the principle of modesty that is preached by the Islamic religion. It is believed that Muslim women should maintain good behavior and dress modestly so as to be respected by their husbands and their community.

The ingredients that are used to make these products are usually derived from plants and herbal extracts that are derived from Muslim lands. Some of the common ingredients found in authentic halal nail polishes are mahnahs, isms, ashamed, rahims, tanners and hazams. All of these ingredients are approved by muftis and scholars as having no negative effects on the health of the customer. In fact, they have been proven to be beneficial and very effective.

Studies have shown that these types of products provide protection against ultraviolet radiation and therefore lessen the possibility of skin cancer or sunburn to the user. They also possess the ability to increase the permeability of the skin which leads to a reduction in bacterial contamination on the finger and toes. Some manufacturers of authentic halal nail polish even add fragrance to the product to enhance its pleasant smelling scent. With all the benefits that it offers, there is really nothing that can be compared to the benefits of using these kinds of nail polishes.
